You are supposed to be with your children up until the point they are safely on the school bus. Don't let your children run around freely right next to Rt 133 and there shouldn’t be a need to address this concern of yours. You can't childproof the world. Plus DPW needs to be more concerned will beautifying Shawsheen Village instead of preoccupied on projects such as this.

Dear ShawsheenRes2, how dare you imply that we are letting our children "run around freely". And the designated bus stop is just inches from speeding cars. Which is in issue in itself. This is not our choice as residents. Your comments seem to be that of a childless person or one who values beautification over child safety. Either way, shame on you. By the way, I love your username, very original.

I am married with a child. Nice false assumption. I agree that bus stops should not be on Haverhill St and that should be brought up to the school board; however, your concern is invalid in my opinion. That gap is small and only poses a threat to children left to their own devices. By your logic we should put a wall between the sidewalk and the speeding car to keep your kids from getting hit by cars. Watch your kids!

Oh and I value beautification over preventable safety mishaps.

I personally witnessed a child (not mine) going in there while his father was present, and accidents can happen. It is very easily a precarious situation once they are on the other side. You should find better ways of spending your time then arguing against someone who is only trying to protect their fellow neighbors. Very sad. And who asked if you were married?
