Overgrown hedges make sidewalk too narrow

this has literally been like this forever and i don’t think anything will change and honestly the trim of the hedges will help but i don’t think it will solve it just because of how it is built/designed i don’t think the hedge is exactly the problem. i think it might be nice if the sidewalk was built up and over in that dirt patch to the left (see pic) to widen the walk over there instead.

All they would have to do is trim the hedge back to their side of the fence to make a difference. That and remove the leaves on the sidewalk.
