Description

On 1/21/21 between 6:45 and 7:10 PM I was walking with my fiance on Poinciana between Pembroke and Fargo. We were headed North toward Fargo and there was a truck driving South toward us. This truck was increasing its speed well above the speed limit and barreled right toward us. He kept speeding up as he approached and tried to run us over. He sharply swerved right at us, crossing into the opposite lane. We were as close to the curb as possible, so he went out of his way to purposely aim for us. We were lucky enough to jump out of the way and he just barely missed us by a whisker. After passing us, he blew the stop sign and turned right onto Pembroke at such a high speed his truck almost flipped over. There was another car going through the intersection that he almost clipped. He then gunned it going as fast as possible toward Inkster at a highway speed and we lost sight of him. Due to this incident happening so late, it was already dark. The combination of darkness and high speeds made it impossible to get his license plate and we were unable to see his face. Since he fled the scene of the crime, we called the police non emergency line and spoke to an officer who asked if we were hurt. Since we were not injured there was nothing they could do. They wanted to help, but all we have is a description of the truck and no license plate or description of the perpetrator. I am posting this on here at the recommendation of the police. Hopefully someone will have information about the truck or driver. It is an older model pickup truck that is gray color with a red stripe and possibly a white stripe as well. I could not tell if it was a straight stripe or a curved stripe. In the bed of the truck there appeared to be some trash/junk. I have seen this truck on Poinciana before. He is always driving way too fast and recklessly. I think he comes by on garbage day to trash pick (hence the junk in the bed). If anyone has seen this truck, knows the owner, or knows what house it parks at, please let me know. We need more information for the police so that we can get this dangerous man off the road. I am also aware of at least three houses on Poinciana between Fargo and Pembroke that have doorbell cameras. These cameras would have caught the incident. Hopefully one of those residents will be able to provide video footage that can help catch this criminal. If anyone knows anything about this truck or driver please comment on this with any information. Thank you for reading this and helping catch a dangerous man. I have a feeling he will do this again and the victim may not be as lucky as us. Our reaction speed was really good, but what if next time it is a child? It did not seem this was his first time and I doubt it will be his last. He gets off on instilling fear in pedestrians. I fear that his behavior will only escalate from here.
