Description

Approaching the Thruway on Airmont Rd heading north, there are two signs before the highway entrance. One says "Left lane must turn left." The other, "Right lane must turn right." There are only two traveling lanes so this is confusing. There is a turn-only lane on the left. It is obvious that people in that lane must use it to turn left. That does not affect the left traveling lane. On the right, the entrance to the Thruway is a dedicated lane that starts after the railroad tracks so it is not a matter of having to turn right in that lane at all. You turn into an additionally created lane. I would have both of these signs removed. These signs are misleading and given the activity at that intersection anyway, add to the possibility of people doing stupid things.
