说明
This light stays green for the cars on Chapel for about 10 minutes then goes right back green for cars on chapel. If you are coming out the school parking lot or waiting on Franklin you can wait close to 12 minutes for a green light. I have seen cars get tired and waiting and go through when red. With all the cops that like to hide and eat jelly doughnuts in the school parking lot they must know about this dangerous light.

"Thanks for the post. The Signal Division will be notified."
I went through this intersection the other day and the problem still is not fixed; whoever was notified in the Signal Division must be on a long long long lunch break.

West-bound traffic on Chapel has a green light prior to east-bound traffic, to accomodate vehicles traveling south-bound (onto Franklin) from the west-bound turn pocket. Once the arrow turns red, east-bound traffic on Chapel gets a green light.
North-bound traffic on Franklin St and south-bound traffic from the school parking lot have a traffic signal detector that triggers a green light when a vehicle is waiting at either approach. Depending upon the cycle of the signal, a vehicle may have to wait between 30 - 90 seconds before the light turns green.
After sending the Signal crew out to inspect this intersection, they found no problems with the timing of the traffic signal.
12 minutes in an incredibly long time to wait for a traffic signal to turn green. If you think there is still a problem with the traffic signal, you may call John Blando, Traffic Signal Superintendent at (203) 946-8080. If he is unavailable or you get voicemail, leave your name and number and he wil return your call to discuss the matter further.
Have a nice day.

I suspect that the detector for the north bound traffic on Franklin does not work all the time and is the cause of the problem. Even with my truck which is very large and should trigger just about any sensor, I have watched the lights go throught several cycles before I gave up and made a left on red.

Dear Mr. John Blando, Traffic Signal Superintendent:
This is a problem and has been a problem for a long long time. This is a malfunctioning light in and around a middle school-this has not been fixed.
Please have a nice day when this is fixed. I go through this interection at least once a day and it is a serious problem.
