Description
I have been living in this neigborhood for 5 years and not in any other area than north nashville would this hazard be and eye sore be allowed to continue for this many years. The owner has been building, so to speak, for at least 5 years. I am sure without building permits and other things that are requirements to build. Codes just does not seem to care that some of us care about out neighborhood and property value. No it is not Green Hills or Brentwood, so our compliants are not taken seriously. The house has had scaffolding up for three or more years just surrounding the house because no work is ever being done on it or completed. My neighbors and I have to endure this every single day.

Codes and Building Safety held a Hearing with the owners of this property in August 2011 and the owner was notified to have all repairs made by September 11, 2011. A building permit was required which the owner failed to obtain. Codes will be prosecuting this owner in court for failing to complete all repairs within the 90 days as ordered.
This is not a proeprty that Coes is ignoring or hasn't made inspecitons. When an owner fails to corrrect code violations, our only recourse is to request a civil warrant and prosecute in court. The Codes RFS Number for this case is 11-1056554.

To whom it may concern: Codes and Building Safety has placed this proeprty under a Code Demolition Action as of May 1, 2012. Codes placed the property in a 25 year research for ownership and all owners as well as lien holders were notified to appear at a hearing. We had previously prosecuted the prior owner in court to make repairs, which he failed to make the repairs, nor obtain any permits for work performed.
The owner appear with his Attorney at the Hearing on July 19, 2012 and he was notified to have the structure demolished within 60 days. The owner has failed to obtain a demolition permit, not demolish the structure. This property wil now be demolished by the City as the demolition funds are availale.
