The traffic light at Carriage Way Drive and Gratiot turning onto Gratiot is about a 10 minute wait. It's actually a very busy road. Nobody wants to wait at a traffic light that long. Especially me!

Unnamed commenter,
Yes, you are probably right that MCRC would pull more weight than just a tax payer. But those guys are underfunded and understaffed as it is. If it was their responsibility to make calls to other departments for every report they received that wasn't their responsibility, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult - as long as the taxpayers were willing to foot the bill for additional staff. I appreciate that they were at least willing to tell us who are the right people for us to call and give us the phone #.

I noted that the township was not listed as a See Click Fix "watcher", so I was hoping to refer you to the proper authorities to address your issues. Since road commissions have no jurisdiction over sidewalks, we do not review pedestrian needs in local areas and would not have knowledge of whether or not there is a need for sidewalks in specific areas. Residents that pay property taxes and vote have every right to contact their local representatives and have their concerns heard by their local agency.
The Road Commission is heavily involved in pursuing hike/bike path funding and constructing these paths wherever we can. We are currently working with local communities and the County on completing a 70 mile loop of hike/bike path through the entire county by connecting Richmond south thru several communties to link up with Macomb Orchard Trail at Metro Parkway.
