  Would love speed bumps on E 7th St. between Fruitvale Ave. and Lancaster, and another from Lancaster to Derby. If we can also get a speed limit sign coming from Fruitvale in front of Alameda Public Works building that would be wonderful!

  At a minimum there should be stop signs at all corners... and maybe "No Left Turn" signs at Chapman and E7th off Peterson. We have become a stepping stone so those in Alameda can get on the freeway.

  Totally agree with above comment. I think the city needs to do more than the minimum regardless. Jingletown hasn't seen much support with safely improvements and it's greatly needed.

  Not a fan of speed bumps, but I have to agree the traffic engineering around our neighborhood is completely bananas. Regarding the no left turn suggestion off Peterson, Ford to Peterson to Chapman or E7th is the legal route to enter 880S from the 29th Ave overpass, unless you loop around 7-Eleven and try your luck merging into the flood of cars coming of the bridge. There is a no u-turn sign, but at a minimum half the drivers make an illegal u-turn onto 880 S, Others turn left on Ford and then make an idiotic u-turn via the Kefa parking lot. Those who have figured it out go the above route.

  Yes we need this speed bumps and stop signs i live on the corner of E 7th st and have witnessed many accidents cars go to fast and they don’t stop at the one stop sign that we do have.4 way stop sign is needed and posted speed limits

  Speed bumps would be great and at Derby there really should be traffic circles or center of intersection planters to deter dohnuts (also at Derbt and Ford), this wou”d help slow down cars in our growing neighborhood.

  Stop signs will be easier to get than speed bumps. No speed bumps allowed on designated City bike paths. Also, one has to get 51% of the property owners to sign off on speed bumps. Go for the stop signs. Lancaster needs a stop sign, big time.

  Cosign. I would also say we need speed bumps on Peterson. And please make the intersection of Peterson and Derby a four way stop. Too many people speeding down Derby.

  Thanks to each of you for your comments. I vote for speed bumps and center of intersection planters will beautify the neighborhood as well as increase the safety factor. Start with the Stop signs then go BIG!

  Another aspect of the problem: cars turning left off Ford to Peterson regularly cut the turn at speed, creating a significant hazard to cars approaching the intersection from Peterson. It’s only a matter of time before there’s a collision.

  Laz: It’s only a matter of time before there’s a collision.

  There's already been multiple collisions... at Derby/Ford, Chapman/Lancaster, Chapman/Derby and E7th/Derby. It's only a matter of time till someone (or a pet) dies at one of these intersections.
