I live on West Martin Ave.by the bridge where the curve is this is a 25 mph zone and noone seems to respect that there is several hidden drives. We have contacted police to have this road watched more often but it doesnt seem to do any good.We had a car crash into our wall this past summer because he was speeding and lost control thank God it wasnt during the day when our children were playing out front.Something has to be done before someone is seriously hurt or even killed. Its mostly in the mornings and evenings when the speeding is out of hand im afraid for my 17 yr old to pull out of our driveway she almost gets hit everytime she pulls out it is getting ridiculous.PLEASE can u help resolve this problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. I use West Martin FREQUENTLY and do the speed limit, yet I have people flying up on my rear honking and giving me the finger. NO JOKE!! This has happened more than a few times.
I just can't believe how bad people have gotten in Amherst in terms of speeding. Our street is 25, and NO one does the speed limit. I've seen people going as fast as 45-50 on our street. Something needs to be done about the speeding and blowing through stop signs in general.

I met with your husband on Sunday afternoon, and we discussed the problems associated with that area, I also took the time to contact your neighbors and got their input. Monday morning I called Police Chief Kucirek personally and he assured me observation will increase on the morning and afternoon shifts when school lets out. You have my card so please feel free to contact me directly.

I received communications from Chief Kucirek and Capt. Seger, the Police Department will be increasing proactive enforcement in that area beginning next week. Everyone in the neighborhood should have my card so please feel free to contact me directly.
